Ian Somerhalder Reveals Why He Isn’t Marriage Material — You’ll Never Guess Why! (VIDEO)

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) must get at least one marriage proposal per day, right? The eyes! The bod! The humanitarianism! But, at a recent TVD convention in Orlando, the dreamy actor outlined exactly why you don’t want to marry him. Does this convince you?

In the vid, we see Ian and co-star Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) taking audience questions on stage. As one is wont to do at a fan convention, the question of fan marriage proposals arose, and Ian tells the crowd: “You do not want to be married to me. Trust me. I’m a workaholic. I’m never home. I have eight animals … Yeah, they’re adorable, but what ‘til you’re living with them … Their turds are about the size of this microphone. I mean, it’s all day everyday.” TMI, dude!

Yeah, we’re not sure if we’re convinced by Ian’s reminder that he loves all furry things. Especially when he can’t help himself by adding, more seriously: “No, by the way, they’re the most beautiful creatures I’ve ever known.” Aww. He really, really loves his pets.

Of course, Paul takes issue with Ian’s declaration, teasing, “I thought I was the most beautiful creature you’ve ever known.” They’re in a total bromance. Unless Ian has dumped Paul for Michael Malarkey, that is.

“Well, you’re one of them,” Ian appeases Paul, literally stroking his face. Why don’t these two have every TVD scene together again?

So, has Ian convinced you that you don’t want to marry him? Sound off in the comments below!

The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
