Oberyn’s Death on Game of Thrones: Pedro Pascal Reacts, Is Amazing

If you work on a show like Game of Thrones, you need to be able to find humor in the darker side of the story because every character inevitably faces something gruesome. Like, you know, having their head crushed until it explodes. We miss you already, Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal)!

Fortunately, actor Pedro Pascal has been able to bring smiles to his fans' faces during this tough time with a little dry humor about Oberyn's fate.

Last night, after the episode aired, Pedro tweeted simply: "Ouch." It's basically the perfect tweet — not a spoiler if you hadn't seen the show yet, but enough to make you laugh and sob at the same time if you had.

Pedro followed that up with another tweet this morning: "I sh-t you not, I can't get rid of this headache." Too soon? Nah. If Pedro can find something to laugh about in this situation, so can we!

Finally, and most cheerfully, Pedro shared this pic of himself with Thor Bjornsson, AKA The Mountain, writing simply, "buds." Pedro has spoken a lot about how nice Thor is in real life, and seeing the actors smiling and having a good time does make us feel slightly better about Oberyn's on-screen fate.

But only slightly. We're going to go back to crying now.
