We know that Jennifer Lawrence is the patron saint of self-effacing relatability and hilarious red carpet hijinks — but now we're convinced she's just a saint in general!
According to a Showbiz Spy report, the 23-year-old Hunger Games star offered a dinner to a homeless woman as she headed to famed Los Angeles steakhouse Lala's Argentine Grill along with two female friends and her mom, Karen.
The site's sources saw Jen stop on her way into the restaurant to talk to an elderly woman heaving a shopping cart full of her possessions.
Per the eyewitnesses, the American Hustle star said, "Honey, are you hungry? Do you want to come and eat with us?"
That's when — according to the report — some dude passed by and shouted that the restaurant wouldn't accept the homeless woman, and our homegirl reportedly said, "Why don't you mind your own business?!"
And, in typical J.Law fashion, she cussed the guy out.
The elderly woman thanked the three-time Oscar nominee for her generosity and said that she needed to mind her cart, so Jen gave her $20, saying, "Well, you eat when you're ready then!"
Giving money to those in need is one thing, but actually inviting a homeless person to a nice dinner with one's friends and family is an act of kindness we rarely hear about.
We're really hoping this story is true — not that we'd be surprised!
