One of the biggest complaints about Once Upon a Time Season 2 was the many annoying, brief hiatuses scattered randomly throughout the season. Rumor has it ABC is looking to fix that problem in Season 3 — but that means we're in for a very long winter hiatus.

The idea is that the season will run in two relatively uninterrupted chunks in the fall and in the  spring. But since it's still only 22 episodes a season, that means there is going to be a big wait in between.

How big? According to showrunner Adam Horowitz, this change, if it happens, could mean an 11-week break, which is a long time to go without any OUAT magic in our lives. But, as Adam points about, that would mean "no reruns” or “hiatuses in spring." He added that there will hopefully be an official announcement about the scheduling soon.

The Once Upon a Time spin-off, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, was originally conceived of as a mini-series to fill the break, though it will now be joining the fall lineup on Thursdays. Hopefully, ABC’s new series The Quest will help fill the gap once OUAT is off for 11 weeks!

What do you think: Is this possible winter break too long, or is it worth it for a hiatus free spring?
