Once Upon a Time is an intricate drama which flips fairy tales on their heads and surprises us with many twists and turns along the way. With such complex characters, it makes sense that the actors have to be on their A-game at all times, but did you know that one star had to audition four times to land her role?

During an interview at MCM Comic-Con, Keegan Connor-Tracy (The Blue Fairy) told Essex UK that she had to go in and read four times before she got the part!

“I auditioned at least four times; I had to go in and read,” she dished, also adding that she had a new baby and apparently brought daughter with her! However, that didn’t stop her from going all-out in her audition.

“Because it said The Blue Fairy, a lot of the other actresses had like a blue scarf on or like a blue shirt, and I had a long green vintage cape that I was wearing with this big collar and the whole thing,” she said. “I didn’t really care that it was green compared to blue. I really wanted to look like a fairy; I really wanted to have an ethereal feel to her.”

That method acting took her through three interviews, and during her final one, the director had an interesting note. “Mark Mylode, the director of the pilot, said, ‘I don’t mean to be pervy, but what do you look underneath that?’ So the final audition I went to, I wore this very slinky little dress, and I guess that sealed it,” she revealed with a laugh.

Well, she is perfect for the part, and we can’t wait to see what The Blue Fairy has up her sleeve next season!
