With Once Upon a Time Season 3 just around the corner, we've been gobbling up every spoiler possible and contemplating what we'd like the season to look like. More importantly, we've been speculating what we want for our favorite characters. Today, we're delving into what we hope to get out of Belle's (Emilie de Ravin) story in Season 3.
Obviously, we can't predict the actual plot lines, because so little is known about the season. But we can talk in broad strokes about what we'd love to see the writers do with Belle, based on how the season ended and what we did, and didn't, see from her this year.
Here's our Belle wish-list for Season 3:
1. Belle in charge. We're fully on board the Belle for mayor train, and even if she isn't officially given the title, we definitely want to see her take a leadership role in the Storybrooke while the Charmings are gone. She has the guts, compassion, and moral compass Storybrooke needs while trying to forge ahead without a king and queen.
2. More bonding with other townsfolk. Belle had some nice moments with Ruby in Season 2, but most of her screentime was focused on her relationship with Rumple. Now that he's off saving Henry, we want to see Belle establish some real connections with the other people in town.
3. More Rumbelle actually dealing with their issues. Belle and Rumple are currently separated, but hopefully that won't last all season. We actually think the separation could be good for them, especially if Belle is allowed to come into her own while he's gone. Once they do come together again, we want to see her stand up to Rumple and force him to earn her love through really reforming.
4. Dealing with her dad. Belle and her father have a compelling, albeit complicated, relationship, and we hope it gets explored in Season 3.
