Once Upon a Time’s Amy Acker (Nova) is now a Person of Interest permanently. The erstwhile fairy was promoted to series regular for Season 3 of the CBS show, which was revealed last weekend at San Diego Comic-Con.
Amy told TVLine, who reported the news, that she felt they had to bring her back. “I feel like I took such a crazy journey [as Root] this year, learning all this stuff I did in the finale about The Machine and Harold,” she dished. “And now that she’s had lots of therapy, we’ll see!”
Her recurring character, Root, on the sci-fi crime drama is described as a “highly-intelligent hacker and contract killer with a keen interest in Finch and The Machine.” For those unfamiliar with the show, this “machine” is a mass surveillance computer system that targets Persons of Interest that the two main characters (Reese and Finch) assist. It’s complicated and inventive, making it the perfect place for Whedonverse and OUAT alum Amy.
However, with her as a series regular, it leaves less wiggle room for her to return to Storybrooke. Given that POI is on CBS and OUAT is on ABC, plus the filming locations (New York and Vancouver), it doesn’t add up for her coming back for more than a quick guest stint. With that being said, Amy recently told Wetpaint Entertainment that she would love to return, exclaiming, “Oh I hope so — I've been missing my pink costume!"
