Rumbelle fans’ hearts broke in the Once Upon a Time Season 2 finale when, just after Belle’s identity crisis spell broke, Rumplestiltskin set sail to save Henry, leaving her behind in Storybrooke. There was a farewell kiss that had us sobbing, and it seemed like Rumple was leaving forever. However, that may not be the case.

Even though Rumple sees this trip to Neverland as a one-way “suicide mission," the fan favorite couple will see each other in the new land, according to Robert Carlyle. When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the erstwhile Evil One at a San Diego Comic-Con roundtable, he revealed that “Belle and Rumplestiltskin will meet again, in Neverland, but not in the way that you imagine.”

Wait, what? We need more intel, stat. In fact, so does Rumple — Robert notes that he needs Belle to keep him from becoming a crazy, dangerous man again. “I think Belle is his moral center, and the further he gets away from her, the more dangerous he can become,” he dished. “He kind of needs that person just to kind of ground him.”

Meanwhile, even if he is “good,” that doesn’t mean that things will be fine and dandy aboard the Jolly Roger. But it won’t necessarily be Rumple in danger. When asked if he would be safe with Hook on the ship, Robert retorted, “Is Hook safe with Rumple on the boat? That’s what I would say. Hook’s not safe, I can tell you that!”

Sounds like we have a lot to look forward to and worry about in Season 3. Do you think Rumbelle will finally get a happy ending? Sound off below!
