When Once Upon a Time’s epic Season 3 premiere ended, Henry was surrounded by Peter Pan and his Lost Boys, unable to escape. They presumably took him to a hidden place in Neverland, hidden from his family and friends who are looking for him, but he may not stay hidden for long — at least not if Emma Swan has anything to say about it.

In a sneak peek from next week’s episode (Season 3, Episode 2: “Lost Girl”), Emma awakens after hearing children crying and is immediately greeted by Peter Pan while rustling about in the trees. With her sword pointed, they make their introductions — “You’re Emma, right? I wonder why they can’t hear the crying,” Pan asks — and as soon as he announces himself, Emma backs him up against a tree and demands, “Where’s Henry?!”

From there, he awkwardly flirts with her (“You’ve got fire. I like fire.”) and she doesn’t falter, still questioning Henry’s whereabouts. “Henry’s still alive, if that’s what you’re worried about,” Pan says, and when she asks, “Where the hell did you take him?” he doesn’t answer. “He’s a very special boy, Emma,” he retorts.

Apparently, Pan wanted to see the savior and who he’s up against — and he’s not disappointed. And though it seems like he has captured Henry for good, he reasons with Emma, deciding to help her. “I’ll give you a map. A map that will lead you straight to your son,” he says, and when she wonders if it’s a trap, he replies, “I may not be the most well-behaved boy on the island, but I always keep my promises. The path to Henry is on this parchment.”

This was hinted in the synopsis, but it’s still surprising that she appears to be striking a deal. Could she be the titular “Lost Girl”?  Considering that the map is blank and she presumably must use magic to activate it — hello Marauder’s Map? — it seems like she’ll need more help than just this paper.

“It’s not about finding Henry, it’s about how to find him,” Pan explains. “And Emma, you’re the only one who can. You’ll only be able to read that map when you stop denying who you really are.”

OK, can it be next week yet? We’re ready to see what happens next. Check out the full sneak peek below, then watch the whole episode on Sunday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
