Could Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Regina (Lana Parrilla) fall in love on Once Upon a Time? A lot of fans sure want it to happen. So far, the showrunners' reactions to the popularity of the Swan Queen ship doesn't give us much hope that this dream will become a reality, but that doesn't stop us from thinking about how interesting, and potentially awesome, it could be.

So, what would happen if Emma and Regina realized that instead of fighting over who gets to be Henry's #1 mom they should resolve their tension with a little bit o' lovin? Here are our prediction about what would go down, both on the show and in the wilds of the internet.

Snow and Charming would freak out. Charming was wary enough about Hook hooking up with his daughter — imagine how these two would feel if Emma gave her heart to their mortal enemy! Of course, this being Once Upon a Time, and Charming and Snow being almost sickeningly good people, they'd eventually come around to seeing things Emma's way. After all, everyone deserves a second third hundredth chance.

Hook and Neal's heads would explode. Imagine the two men who thought they only had each other to fight for Emma's affection finding out that neither of them won her heart in the end. If the writers didn't take full advantage of this situation to create some hilarious brokenhearted bro bonding, we'd be very, very disappointed.

Rumple would try to find a way to use it to his advantage. If there's one thing we can always count on with Once Upon a Time, it's that Rumple will manipulate any situation. How could Regina and Emma getting together help him? Who knows — but we're sure he'd think of something.

Tumblr would crash. First it would explode with ten million gifsets, followed by a quick crash and burn thanks to the power of a gazillion reblogs with #OMG I CANT BELIEVE IT #SWAN QUEEN FOREVER #AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH hastags.

Suddenly, everyone would be talking about OUAT. Two female leads, previously presumed straight, getting together on a family show? Yeah, you better believe the entire world (well, entire internet, anyway) would start paying attention. You'd get think pieces all over the place, and a lot of confused commenters going, "Wait... that person is Snow White's daughter? And that one is the Evil Queen? And that kid's dad is Rumplestiltskin's son? And they're fighting Peter Pan? WTF even is this show!?"

Do you want this "What If" to become reality, or would you prefer Swan Queen remain firmly in the realm of fanfiction? Sound off in the comments below!
