With the Storybrooke crew heading from Neverland back to their quaint little town, they may soon find that their population has grown by one. In amazing casting news, it seems the show has found its Rapunzel — and we’re loving their choice for the role.

According to TVLine, former Originals star Alexandra Metz is making a move to Once Upon a Time later in Season 3 to play the long-haired beauty. She may have played a witch named Katie (who was a casualty of Klaus Mikaelson’s plot to take over New Orleans), but we think Rapunzel is going to be a lighter role — though nothing about her character (or how long she’ll stick around) has officially been released.

With that being said, we think this is the “skittish and timid” role we heard about a while back. They did say they were looking for a young African-American to play a character who had “her naturally curious and determined spirit tempered by years of crippling fear.”

Rapunzel is slated to make her debut in Episode 14 when Season 3 of Once returns from its winter hiatus after going off the air on December 15 and comes back on March 9. Hopefully we can expect to see Rapunzel as early as the end of March!

In addition to The Originals, Alexandra has appeared on Chicago Fire, The Good Wife, and Gossip Girl — dang, this girl has a nice resume!
