UPDATE: In Season 3 Episode 11— "Going Home," after Tinker Bell captured Pan's shadow in the coconut and tossed it into the flame, destroying Pan's shadow forever, it was revealed that The Blue Fairy was alive yet again! Her shadow was released in all the commotion and she handed over The Black Fairy's wand in efforts to stop Pan and the curse. We're glad The Blue Fairy lives once again and that Tinker Bell is a full-fledged fairy once more.

Original Story: With the Storybrooke crew safely out of Neverland on Once Upon a Time, we thought the worst was over. But with Peter Pan (Robbie Kay) and Henry Mills (Jared Gilmore) still inhabiting the wrong body, Pan’s evil doings were running amuck in Season 3, Episode 10 — “The New Neverland,” leading to the tragic death of one Fairy Tale characters.

Sadly we lost The Blue Fairy (Keegan Connor Tracy) about halfway through tonight’s episode, when Pan’s shadow escaped the sail and ripped her shadow away from her body. The population of Storybrooke wasn’t able to intervene in time to save her life — they were all having lasagna at Granny’s — and they rushed over as soon as they heard her screams echoing through the town.

It was a sad sight to see, her lifeless body lying on the ground, and we hope our heroes exact revenge against Pan in the next episode, which also happens to be the mid-season finale.

One lingering thought we have about The Blue Fairy’s passing, though, is whether or not Tinker Bell (Rose McIver) will ever be able to get her wings back, now that the head fairy has been disposed of. Hopefully she can rally and start believing in herself once more and become a solid replacement for her fallen friend.
