Any Once Upon a Time fan who reads spoilers has spent the show's winter hiatus worrying about which series regular will die in the second half of Season 3. One primary candidate in many people's minds is Belle (Emilie de Ravin), whose death could be used to push Rumple back to the dark side if that's the direction the show wants to go with his character.

A recent spoiler from showrunners  Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis gives us another key piece of info to use in the endless speculation — and we're happy to say that Belle fans might get to breathe a sigh of relief.

Adam and Eddy recently spilled a number of small spoilers in a lightning round with TV Guide. Everything they say is interesting, but what we want to focus on is the response to the question, "Will we see Belle's life before Rumple?"

Eddy Katsis replied to this query with, "not this season, but we plan to at some point."

There's no hemming or hawing in that answer, and no "can't tell you." This is a pretty definitive statement that the showrunners have every intention of continuing to explore Belle's backstory. They even later say they'd "love" to show us a young Belle at some point. And, to us, that suggests that it's highly likely that Belle will survive the season.

Yes, characters who have been killed off of OUAT in the past have returned in flashback episodes, but we've never had a flashback centered on a dead character, and any story about Belle's life prior to Rumple is likely to be all about, well, Belle. Why would the writers be planning on exploring that part of Belle's past if she's not still an active character in the present?
