Once Upon a Time ended the Season 3 winter premiere with Storybrooke disappearing off the map, but we knew the show wouldn't let the town stay gone for lone. It was no surprise that a synopsis of the season revealed that our heros been cursed back to Storybrooke — and have lost their memories of the year they spent back in Fairytale Land.

The synopsis explains that "no one remembers how they were transported back or the past year they had spent back in Fairytale Land. But someone in town is responsible for this curse, and all clues point to the Wicked Witch of the West, whose agenda in our world is a mystery. In an attempt to break the curse, new fairytale characters will be revealed and old acquaintances will be revisited. But not everyone can be trusted."

OK, so there's a new curse, and all signs point to its caster being the Wicked Witch of the West. Once Upon a Time likes twists, so we're not going to take that at face value. There's definitely a chance that it's not the Wicked Witch who cast the new curse, or, perhaps even more likely, that it is her, but that she had help from a character we already know.

So, who cast this curse? Here are a couple of theories, and then we want to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

The Wicked Witch, and just the Wicked Witch. We can't ignore the obvious: it's very possible the Wicked Witch really is the single culprit. If she cast the curse by herself, that still leaves plenty of mysteries to solve over the course of the season. Why'd she cast the curse? What does she want to do now? And, most importantly, how will our heroes stop her?

Rumple. Rumple is one of the few characters with enough power to cast a curse like this (if he does still have his Dark One powers), and right now he's a wild card. He disappeared during the winter finale, but we've seen photos of him filming for the new season, so he's not gone for good. Perhaps a curse like this was the only way for him to get back to Neal and Belle? Or perhaps the Wicked Witch convinces him to help her? Or maybe she gets hold of his Dark One dagger and forces him...

The Blue Fairy. We'll admit, even after her fake out death in the first half of the season, we don't entirely trust Blue. She's one of the most powerful characters on this show, and we really have no idea what exactly she wants. Yes, maybe she is just a force of good, but this is OUAT we know better than to assume characters are exactly as they appear.

King George. OK, so we kind of doubt this one, but we would love it if the Wicked Witch turned out to be teamed up with King George. He's been totally MIA, which is a shame, because Alan Dale is awesome.

Who do you think cast the curse? Let us know in the comments below!
