It’s no surprise that we’re going to be seeing green when Season 3 of Once Upon a Time returns on March 9. We’ve long known that Rebecca Mader would be playing Zelena, the Wicked Witch, but the question of whether or not the Storybrooke gang is heading to Oz has been unanswered — until now.

“It’s very different in its conception,” co-creator Adam Horowitz tells E! Online about the second half of Season 3. “The Wicked Witch is a big part of the second half and a driving force as an antagonist, but the world of Oz is not.”

There we have it, folks. Sounds like our favorite characters won’t be taking a stroll down the yellow brick road or sharing a lollipop with the munchkins anytime soon — though we know there are flying monkeys. OK then, to what extent will we get to even see the magical land?

“It’s a place that you will see and we’ll spend a little bit of time there, but it’s not a everybody-gets-on-a-ship-and-goes-there kind of thing.”

Perfect, so there will most likely be a few characters that we’ll see in Oz, at least in flashbacks — it’s almost a given that we’ll see Glinda there — but for the large part it’s not going to be a storyline like Neverland was earlier this season. We can totally live with that.

Do you wish we’d get to see more of Oz? Hit the comments and let us know!

Once Upon a Time airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
