We love all of Once Upon a Time’s many, many mysteries, but sometimes it seems like each episode introduces more questions than answers. To that end, we’ve tackled the 10 biggest questions from this week’s episode in order to make sense of everything that happened.

Here are 10 burning questions from Season 3, Episode 12: “New York City Serenade.”

1. How did Charming and Snow get back to Storybrooke?

The episode ends with an unexpected reunion, as Emma catches up with her parents in Storybrooke. We had heard Neal say that he was willing to curse everyone to get them out of Fairytale Land — so is this what happened? Or did the Wicked Witch have something to do with them getting to Storybrooke?

2. Did Aurora and Phillip make a deal with the Wicked Witch?

Aurora initially assures everyone that Regina’s castle is as good as new, but then we realize she and Phillip are clearly hiding something. So did they strike up some kind of ominous deal with the Wicked Witch in order to free the land of those ogres? After all, as far as we know, you can’t just call up an exterminator to get rid of your pesky ogre infestation.

3. What is Regina and the Wicked Witch’s history?

Whenever someone wants some of your blood, it’s rarely a good sign. Such is the case with the Wicked Witch, who seems to desperately need that drop of Regina’s blood from her flying monkey friend. We new wonder about her history with Regina, since they clearly have (pun alert!) bad blood. (Insert rim shot here.)

4. Is there something creepy going on with Snow’s pregnancy?

Typically, we’d be ready to pass out cigars upon learning that Snow and Charming are expecting a royal baby. (It’s almost time to set up the playdates with Kate and William’s son, Prince George!) But the circumstances of their pregnancy seem almost Rosemary’s Baby-esque, considering that Snow and Charming don’t remember anything about it. We’re worried that the Wicked Witch is behind this — and we also wonder if Aurora gave birth to her bun in the oven.

5. How will Gold come back?

This episode was mostly awesome, although it wasn’t so awesome to not have Gold around. And while we can’t imagine he’s really dead, we must admit that things didn’t look promising after he sacrificed his own life during his battle with Peter Pan. We have a feeling Neal will have to do something to bring him back, but we hope it happens soon, since we need our Rumbelle fix, stat.

6. Where did Hook get that potion?

We’re glad that Emma has her memories back, but we’re thinking it was a little too convenient for Hook to suddenly offer her a memory-bringing-back potion that he has somehow acquired. So where did this potion come from? And how did Walsh somehow know about it?

7. Are Regina and Robin Hood indeed destined to be together?

Finally, Regina and Robin Hood have made their acquaintance, which is a very long time coming. However, Regina is clearly not smitten with him, so we wonder if their romance will really happen. Then again, the show wouldn’t be much fun if everyone just immediately ended up with their soul mates, would it?

8. Will Emma finally start to fall for Hook?

We’ve been assuming for a while now that Emma would get with Neal. However, Hook keeps demonstrating how much he cares for her, which makes us suspect that those two might soon get together. And if we can’t date Hook, Emma might as well get to.

9. How did Hook escape the curse?

Hook was full of more great quips this week — and he somehow manages to keep getting hotter, even though a year has supposedly passed. But why was he the only one who managed to escape the curse? And how did he get to NYC? After all, we have a feeling that the NYC subway doesn’t stop at Fairytale Land. (Or if it did, it would cost a lot of tokens.)

10. Wait… so, Emma SLEPT WITH A MONKEY???

In ‘90s movies, monkeys are always trying to act like people, whether playing baseball (the Matt LeBlanc flick Ed) or working as an assistant (Dunston Checks In). But ever since way back with King Kong, no monkey has ever successfully wooed a human gal — until now, apparently. Way to bust through that glass ceiling, Walsh! Indeed, we still can’t wrap our heads around the fact that Emma hooked up with monkey. That’s bananas.
