Perhaps the greatest thing about the back half of Once Upon a Time Season 3 — besides how devilish The Wicked Witch (Rebecca Mader) has proven to be — is the blossoming romance between Regina Mills (Lana Parrilla) and Robin Hood (Sean Maguire). Can we expect their love to spill over into Season 4 with the strapping lad coming aboard full-time?

“It’s too soon to say,” co-executive producer Eddy Kitsis told TVLine about the possibility of Sean becoming a series regular. “I would wait and see.”

We’re pretty used to Eddy and his TV partner Adam Horowitz being pretty vague when it comes to letting spoilers out, so this isn’t anything new. That being said, we are pretty sure (read: hope) that Sean will be joining the cast as a permanent addition. We have our reasons!

First of all, it would be pretty cruel to take away Regina’s true love away after she finally decided to open up to him. They’ve been getting really close throughout the back half of Season 3, so if Robin was to go away, it would definitely devastate Regina — though it would give her an evil edge that she’s been shying away from recently.

But perhaps the biggest reason why Robin will at least be sticking around — series regular or not — is that Michael Socha (The Knave) is coming over from Once Upon a Time in Wonderland to be a series regular. Since he used to run in Robin’s gang of Merry Men, he’s going to need his boss around when he arrives in Storybrooke, right?
