In Frozen, Elsa isn't a villain, just a scared young woman who has never been taught to control her powers. Her journey is one of embracing who she is, but she never, ever meant any harm. Will Once Upon a Time change that?
While the showrunners haven't said exactly what they plan to do with the character, in a recent interview with TV Guide, they dished that they find it very powerful that Elsa "was never a villain. She was only thought to be." They added that, "We truly want to honor the character that everybody has fallen in love with so quickly. When you see how our interpretation of her and what we do with her, you will see that's exactly what we're trying to do."
That makes it sound like Elsa won't be a villain — but that doesn't mean people won't think she is, at least for a little while. We know she was locked up in Gold's vault. Perhaps she goes after him, and everyone else interprets that has villainous? Maybe her powers are just out of control?
