One of the biggest things to come out of the Season 3 finale of Once Upon a Time was Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) bringing Maid Marian back from the Enchanted Forest and absolutely ruining Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Robin Hood’s (Sean Maguire) happily ever after. Will this put Regina on a path back to her wicked ways?

“We have built 66 episodes of growth for Regina and this is a very big setback,” co-creator Eddy Kitsis revealed to E! Online. “The question we want the audience to think about is, ‘How does she handle it?’ It is a very uncomfortable situation for everyone involved; it’s very complicated. She’s done a lot of growing and yet we know what her weaknesses are.”

We have to agree with Eddy. Regina, more than perhaps anyone else on the show, has undergone massive character development throughout the past few seasons. The woman who caused a ruckus back in Season 1 is not the same person who used her light magic to defeat — and pardon — the Wicked Witch, her half-sister, in Season 3.

There’s already speculation about how involved Robin Hood will be next year and rumblings of how intense the relationship between Emma and Regina will get. We can’t wait to see in what state of mind we’ll find Regina when Season 4 begins this fall.
