Well, sort of. The next part of Elsa and Anna’s story to be shared isn’t another feature-length animated movie, but instead, a short called “Frozen Fever” which will hit theaters in Spring 2015.
We don’t know if Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, and the rest of the gang will be back to reprise their original roles, but we’d say there’s a good chance that’s happening. After all, would Disney ever make a sequel without the original Elsa and Anna? We’d hope not.
So what’s “Frozen Fever” about? “It’s Anna’s birthday, and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk,” Disney’s synopsis of the short says, according to MTV.
The short will be directed by Frozen directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and will include a new original song written by the husband and wife songwriter duo Kristen-Anderson Lopez and Robert Lopez, who are responsible for the international phenomenon that is “Let It Go.”
We can’t wait to see the short — and our fingers are crossed that if audiences respond well, Disney will think about giving us a full-length sequel. Bring it on!
