The sneak peek photos are out for Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 4: “The Crocodile,” and they are revealing. There's a lot going on in these images, and you know what that means: It's time to try to piece together what's happening, based on the pics and other spoiler info we have.

In the photo above, we see Belle (Emilie de Ravin) (in an adorable blue dress) being grabbed by a new character played by Chris Gauthier. It looks like he's dragging her off. Does she get kidnapped?

Well, let's start with who this mystery man is. The press release for the episode lists Chris as playing a character called "William," but based on his build, red hat, and apparent kidnapping ways, we're going to go ahead and guess this is the Storybrooke counterpart of Smee, Captain Hook's right-hand man in Peter Pan. After all, this is the episode where we're going to be introduced to OUAT's version of Hook, played by the sexy Colin O’Donoghue.

What else do we know about this episode? The press release also says "Belle's disgust over Mr. Gold [Robert Carlyle]'s continuing thirst for power comes to a head," and Belle will threaten to leave Gold "if he can't change his evil ways." Also, "a reunion with an old acquaintance could prove to be Belle's undoing."

Is Smee the "old acquaintance" Belle meets? He certainly looks like he's leading to her "undoing." We haven't seen Belle interact with him before, but we don't know most of her backstory, so it's possible they've run into each other. Or maybe the "reunion" is with someone else Regina (Lana Parrilla)? — who then intentionally or unintentionally tips Smee off to Belle's whereabouts.

And why would Smee care about Belle? We're guessing he grabs her to get at Gold, because we know Hook and Rumple have a lot of history, and the flashback portion of the episode revolves around Rumple attempting to "save his wife, Milah, from being kidnapped by a band of cutthroat pirates."

It sounds to us like this is an example of the Storybrooke and Fairytale Land flashbacks closely mirroring each other. In Fairytale Land, Rumple is trying to save his wife. Does he do the same for Belle in Storybrooke?

Based on this photo to the right, and others like it, we're guessing yes. Here, we see Gold intensely walking with Ruby/Red (Meghan Ory) and David/Prince Charming (Josh Dallas). Other pics from the episode show them talking, and Gold looking worried. Our guess: Gold convinces Charming and Red to help him find Belle, because it's the right thing to do. (This might explain how Red and Belle potentially become friends, too.)

Do you agree with our theory, or do you think Gold, Charming, and Red have teamed up for another reason?

And here's another question: Does Belle run into trouble after fighting with Gold (perhaps she walks out again, and then gets attacked?), or does the fight come after Gold does something drastic to help her? Based on the phrasing of the press release we'd guess the former, but we could be totally wrong.
