Will we be seeing Peter Pan in Once Upon a Time soon and what will this incarnation of the iconic character look like? OUAT co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis dished details to TV Line on the upcoming reveal — and unfortunately, it looks like Peter isn’t the lost boy we remember.

Though Adam and Eddy wouldn’t completely confirm the introduction of Peter, Eddy said his upcoming appearance “would probably be a good guess.” But those of you looking forward to a mischevious, but ultimately delightful boy may be disappointed. Eddy also said that Peter “is probably not the lovely, cuddly shadow we remember.”

The character of Peter has always had a dark side, but the boy’s love for fun and lightheartedness usually wins out in the end. It would be interesting to see Peter painted not as a hero, but as a villain. Would OUAT be willing to depict such a skewed take on Peter Pan? We think so.

“We’re doing [Peter Pan and Neverland] completely differently,” Eddy told TV Line. A quasi-villainous Peter would certainly surprise people, and give Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) another chance to redeem himself (though, at this point, teaming up with OUAT’s current villain seems to be his main hobby).

How do you think OUAT will make Neverland and Peter Pan different? Let us know your theories in the comments below!
