When we found out that Once Upon a Time was reviving Sheriff Graham/The Huntsman and creating new characters for the upcoming graphic novel, Shadow of the Queen, we were ecstatic. But now that we see The Evil Queen with her hands all over him again, we aren’t too happy.

After Regina disintegrated Graham’s heart in Season 1, we thought we’d seen the last of him. He surprised us by returning in a Season 2 flashback, but it just wasn’t the same. However, we’ll learn a whole lot more about him in the upcoming comic, though most of his plot lines can be inferred by just looking at this violent cover.

In the picture above (via TV Guide), we see the The Evil Queen with her arms wrapped around the Huntsman’s neck as he looks down, upset. Her hands appear to have blood on them as they claw against his chest — right where his heart is, showing that she likely just ripped it out to control him — and she’s holding his face to keep him steady. Snow White and Red Riding Hood are in the background, not interacting with the situation at hand, eyes closed, basically not part of the situation... yet.

TV Guide reveals that this graphic novel takes place following Season 1 episode “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter,” and Marvel editor Emily Shaw says we’ll “witness some important events from the Huntsman’s past ... that define him as a character and explore a new side to his relationship with the Evil Queen.”

We can’t wait to find out more about Graham. Maybe it will make us forget how he’s dead and never coming back to the show. Sigh.
