For those Once Upon A Time fans who felt that the proposed Mad Hatter spin-off would not be the same without Sebastian Stan donning the hat, there may be hope yet. At yesterday’s PaleyFest 2013 OUAT panel, co-creator Edward Kitsis denied rumors that the title role in the proposed spin-off will definitely be recast.

Sebastian -- who you may recognize as Prince Jack Benjamin from the short-lived Kings or Carter Baizen from Gossip Girl -- was rumored to be recast due to his busy schedule (he is set to start filming on the Captain America sequel). But, as reported by TVLine, Kitsis told the panel audience that “we have no plans to recast anyone,” while adding that Sebastian “is a very busy man.”

We can’t blame Hollywood for wanting to work with Sebastian. (Have you seen him shirtless?) Still, we haven’t seen nearly enough of him or his fascinating character, Jefferson/The Mad Hatter, on OUAT -- a fact that might not be changing anytime soon. Kitsis also had this to say at the panel:

“I don’t know when [Sebastian] will be making his way toward us.” Sounds like we might not be seeing the Mad Hatter in Storybrooke for a while, either.

Would you watch a Mad Hatter spin-off? And is re-casting Sebastian as the Mad Hatter a deal breaker? Let us know in the comments below!
