Once Upon A Time is looking to cast the role of Heidi in Season 2, Episode 21, reports Spoiler TV. Other than the character’s name, we know she is 13, British, and has the following characteristics: “compassionate, mischievous, and somewhat naive about how dangerous the world can be.”

This is our first real piece of information regarding this episode, and we can’t help but speculate what it could mean! The first possible connection that jumped to mind was that this Heidi could be the title character from the Swiss novel about a young girl who grows up with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps.

We might think this theory a bit far-fetched if not for the appearance of Dr. Frankenstein earlier this season. Like Heidi, Frankenstein was published in the 19th century, and has been immortalized in a film version. Note that the casting call does describe the character as “British,” but this is hardly a deal breaker. Belle is supposed to be from France, but speaks with an Aussie accent on OUAT, so anything goes in Fairytale Land.

If we do take the British thing more literally, there are still quite a few options. Heidi could be related to Wendy of Peter Pan fame, especially given that it is looking like Neal may have been to Neverland. Or, she could perhaps be Alice, another famous female charactrer from classic British literature.
