After discovering Dr. Whale’s (David Anders) true identity in Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 5: “The Doctor”, we’re starting to wonder if Regina/The Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) might be switching sides — from the Evil to the good, that is. New spoilers from the OUAT set in Vancouver suggest that she’ll be working with some of our favorite good guys, including Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Ruby (Meghan Ory).

The folks at VanCity were on the Storybrooke set on October 25, reporting on scenes from Season 2, Episode 10 (scheduled to air in January). First, they saw the cast and crew filming scenes at Mr. Gold’s (Robert Carlyle) shop, and then they moved on to a nighttime scene at Granny’s (Beverley Elliott) diner.

“Regina and Emma were first up filming a scene outside,” they report. “It was something to do with Regina not wanting any cake from the Diner, lol. It sounded funny at the time, but I don’t think it will be when it airs.”

Could Regina and Emma be working together after the Charmings return to Storybrooke? If Cora (Barbara Hershey) manages to travel there with them in the portal from Fairytale Land, we could see Regina and Emma coming together to protect Henry (Jared Gilmore) from Cora’s evil ways.

VanCity continued, “Next up was Lana on her own and then Meghan Ory (Ruby) on her own. Although they were interacting together, their scenes were separate.” We might get a better idea of Regina and Ruby’s relationship once Season 2, Episode 7: “Child of the Moon,” a Ruby-centric episode, airs on November 11.

After the Diner scenes, the cast and crew went on to shoot “a pretty cool scene being filmed in an alley way besides the Storybrooke Bread store.” What’s intriguing about this scene is that everyone watching was “asked not to reveal anything about it at all.” What VanCity could reveal is that “it’s a huge deal.”

So is everything having to do with Regina! We’ll wait patiently until the mysterious episode airs next year.
