Once Upon a Time Season 2 kicked off with a bang with Season 2, Episode 1: “Broken.” Based on the spoilers, it sounds like Season 2, Episode 2: “We Are Both” (airing October 7) will keep the magic coming with more backstory, more twists, and all the complicated relationships you could want.
For those who can't wait until Sunday to find out what happens next, we've rounded up the juiciest spoilers about the episode right here.

How Regina met Rumple: Let's start with the flashbacks. Showrunner Edward Kitsis has confirmed that this episode will show us how Regina (Lana Parrilla) met Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle).
And how she learned magic: In possibly related news, we'll also discover how she learned magic. (If you recall, the last time we saw Regina's early life it was her evil mother Cora [Barbara Hershey] who had all the power in the family.)
Regina's escape: Speaking of Cora, according to the official press release, the flashbacks will revolve around Regina being "confronted by a man of magic" — Rumple? We assume so — "who promises to help her become independent and break free from her mother Cora's clutches." This will apparently happens before her marriage to King Leopold (Richard Schiff) though, as we know, even if she does break free from her mother's clutches she still goes through with that marriage.
And Regina in Storybrooke? In Storybrooke, Regina is continuing to "find a way to regain her magical powers." Based on the Canadian promo it looks like she'll be successful, though she may require a spell book.
Charming's Quest: Meanwhile, the press release reveals that David/Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) continues searching for a way to bring Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Mary Margaret/Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) back. In this sneak peek we see that he seeks help from Jefferson (Sebastian Stan), who says he can't get to the Enchanted Forest because his hat has been destroyed.
Memory loss: The press release says that "the seven dwarves discover what happens when any of the townspeople try to step past the city limits of Storybrooke," and in this sneak peek we learn the answer: Anyone who leaves Storybrooke loses their Fairytale Land memories. And no, coming back into town doesn't fix it, as poor Sneezy learns.
What happened to August? We'll find out about August's (Eion Bailey) fate in this episode, too. Did he live? Stay stuck as wood? Whatever the case, we'll know soon.
Emma and Mary Margaret? Not much has been spilled about what happens to our heroines this week, but we do know Sleeping Beauty (Sarah Bolger) and Mulan (Jamie Chung) are in the episode, so we assume we'll be seeing more of what's going on in Fairytale Land, too.
Catch the next new episode of Once Upon a Time on Sunday, October 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
