On Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 8: “Into the Deep,” we finally get a reunion between Mary Margaret/Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and David/Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), but it doesn’t last long enough.

After realizing that Aurora (Sarah Bolger) and Henry (Jared Gilmore) are both seeing each other in the fiery netherworld as part of the sleeping curse, Mary Margaret comes up with a plan: to have Aurora communicate with Henry in her dream, and get through to Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle).

Unfortunately, Cora (Barbara Hershey) captures Aurora, removing her from the equation. Almost simultaneously, Snow and Charming realize that they can step into the dream in place of Henry (who keeps getting burnt in the netherworld) and Aurora. The only risk? Charming is being put under the spell for the first time, and may not make it back.

As Snow and Charming find each other (always!) in the netherworld, they hope to break Charming’s sleeping curse with true love’s kiss. But Snow begins to wake up just as he gets close enough to kiss her. As she slowly disappears, she vows to find him again. But how long will that take?

As we’ve seen from spoilers, the Charming family does ultimately reunite in Storybrooke. So how, exactly, does Charming wind up waking, and escaping?

Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Rumplestiltskin have finally found a common enemy: Cora. Once Regina warns Rumple that Cora is planning to come to Storybrooke, his interest is piqued. The last thing he’d want is Cora working her dark magic on Belle, his true love.
