Death is “perhaps” coming to Storybrooke in the two-part season finale, according to Once Upon a Time co-creator Edward Kitsis.  We weigh the odds on our favorite characters. Could one of these five fairy talers pay the ultimate price of magic?

Henry

Henry’s (Jared Gilmore) death would be the most shocking and most gutting of the potential deaths. He is also the most likely within the logic of the show given that he means the most to the most people. If magic is somehow used by either the heroes (Emma and the Charmings) or the villains (Rumple and Regina), Henry’s death would be a horrific price. Would they really be able to commit to their point with a shocker like this? Maybe.

Belle/Lacey

Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) is definitely near the top of the list of Storybrooke’s magical abusers. He’s been devoting much of his time this season to trying to reconnect with the people he loves (i.e. Belle and Neal). To take either one of these two away from him permanently would be the ultimate price. If Rumple uses magic in the two-part season finale, then more than just Belle’s (Emilie de Ravin) memories could be forfeit.

Neal

Another likely option is Neal (Michael Raymond-James), who is the other important person in Rumple’s life. While Belle has the added clout of having been on OUAT since Season 1, Neal is a Season 2 addition. Will he always be? It would definitely stick with the show’s theme of getting rid or Emma’s love interests (death in Graham’s case and age reversal in August’s). Watch out, Hook! You could be next!

Greg

Greg (Ethan Embry) is not exactly fond of magic, but that doesn’t mean he won’t use it if it means finding/saving his father, Kurt Flynn, who Regina disappeared in Storybrooke when Greg’s name was Owen and he was only a boy. Could Regina talk Greg into some magic usage and abusage? We think at least one of the Season 2 baddies, Greg and Tamara, will bite it in the Season 2 finale, and Tamara has that magical taser, so...

Rumple

Okay, maybe this death would be more shocking than Henry, but bear with us. The Seer prophesied that Henry would be Rumple’s “undoing.” What if Rumple becomes the ultimate hero in the Season 2 finale, sacrificing himself for Henry? We think this would not only be a fitting conclusion to Rumple’s arc in Season 2, as he struggles for redemption and forgiveness from his son, but an awesome conclusion to his character’s storyline in general...And we can always resurrect him next season, right? I mean, this show ismagic.

Do you think someone will die in the Season 2 finale? If so, who? Post your theories in the comments below!
