Throughout Once Upon a Time’s two seasons, many things have changed, but one thing has remained relatively constant: Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Regina's (Lana Parrilla) tormented relationship. However, that may be changing, just in time for the Season 2 finale.

In Storybrooke, the last time the two interacted, Regina ripped out Snow’s heart to show her its growing dark spot (after her actions killed Regina’s mother, Cora). Since then, the Charmings have been questioning whether to bring the erstwhile Evil Queen back to Fairytale Land. While Regina is a bit tied up currently — literally: she was kidnapped by Greg Mendell, Tamara, and Hook and is strapped to a metal table in next week’s episode — her portrayer, Lana Parrilla, teases that she will be reuniting with Snow soon. (And this time, it won’t be to rip her heart out.)

During a chat with TV Guide, series co-creator Adam Horowitz revealed that the characters are going to a place “emotionally and physically different from where they've ever gone before.” To that, Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White) revealed that something happens in the finale that “breaks a pattern,” and she looks forward to “seeing how that changes the people involved.” Could the "people involved" include Regina and Snow? Lana seems to think so.

“I love that there's a possibility for Snow and Regina to have a relationship,” Lana added. “We're all family.” Well, they’ve always been family (albeit a severely dysfunctional one), but it sounds like there’s a chance for things to change if Regina doesn’t blow up Storybrooke.

Co-creator Eddy Kitsis explained that everyone has blood on their hands, but love in their hearts, which leads to an unlikely team. “What will unite our rivals?” he questioned. “Magic's got a price, and it's incredibly heartbreaking.” OK, so maybe we shouldn’t hold our breath for a happy reunion...

We’ve already speculated that Henry could pay the price for his family’s magic, in turn uniting Regina, the Charmings, and likely Emma and Neal, too. However, if we were to focus on Regina and Snow’s relationship exclusively, it seems like it could be less about Henry and more about saving magic from Greg and Tamara. That is, if Regina lets go of her dark side.

“What's surprising about this is the light and dark forces trying to work together for a greater good,” Lana added. Rumplestiltskin will be busy trying to win back Belle, but other than that, the evil and the good appear to be congregating for the epic finale. Hey, if everyone unites, we could have Storybrooke Avengers on our hands!

Do you think Regina and Snow will unite to save Storybrooke, or will darkness prevail? Sound off below.
