When we last left our favorite characters on Once Upon a Time, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) had broken The Evil Queen’s (Lana Parrilla) curse; everyone in Storybrooke suddenly remembered their Fairytale Land lives; and Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) unleashed a purple cloud of magic in the sleepy Maine town. So what will happen in the Season 2 premiere?

ABC released more information on Season 2, Episode 1: “Broken,” including the fact that the characters will all be very disappointed that they aren’t immediately transported back to Fairytale Land. What this means is that “reality and myth begin to merge,” as the magic usually reserved strictly for fairy tales enters the real world of Storybrooke.

“In fairy tales magic has its place, but in our world it can have unfathomable consequences,” according to ABC. “To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin … in an effort to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina,” has introduced magic into reality.

Of course, we will still see what’s going on in the Fairytale Land. “Prince Phillip [Julian Morris] awakens his sleeping beauty Aurora [Sarah Bolger], but discovers that he and his traveling companion, Mulan [Jamie Chung] will soon have to face a deadly foe,” as the ABC press release states.

That’s an awful lot of ground to cover for what is being teased as a Snow White-centric episode. Maybe that just means that we’ll get a lot of Mary Margaret and David scenes in Storybrooke.

Excited yet?!

Once Upon a Time Season 2 premieres on September 30, 2012 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
