Regina (Lana Parrilla) has definitely gotten the short end of the True Love stick in Once Upon A Time, but there may be hope for her in the future. Series co-creator Edward Kitsis and Lana weighed in on the potential for romance in The Evil Queen’s future at yesterday’s PaleyFest panel.

“Everything that motivates her is love,” explained Kitsis, as reported by TVLine. “She has a huge capacity for love. She’s just got a strange way of going about getting it.”

That may be a bit of an understatement. We had hope for Regina’s path to redemption, but it seems she may have banged a uey, joining forces with her evil mother and plotting to kill the Charmings. According to the Examiner, Lana had this to say about her character’s inner conflict between good and evil:

"Being good didn't quite work out for Regina...There's a lot going on for her...Deep down inside there is that good innocent little girl that did fall in love...she really is trying to get back to that place..."

Will Regina get back to that place? It doesn’t seem likely in the short term, as Lana added: "I think Regina's The Evil Queen will make a comeback and it will be exciting to see.”

As for Regina finding love, anything can happen on OUAT, right? Lana says Regina is “holding out for the right one.” (TV Line) Well, for Storybrooke’s sake, we hope she finds “the right one” soon.
