Regina/The Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) and Snow White/Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Morrison) have been tied together since the beginning of the Once Upon a Time tale, and their relationship is one of the most interesting on the show. Will we be seeing more of it in the home stretch of Season 2?
OUAT co-creator Adam Horowitz says yes! “More Snow/EQ coming up...” he tweeted yesterday. We wonder how the relationship will come into play. How will these two characters’ paths cross come the end of the season?
In a way, the relationship between Regina and Snow is always in play. The narrative catalyst of this show has always been Regina’s quest for vengeance against Snow. (Or, more abstractly, love. Regina’s vengeance is fueled by the loss of love in the forms of Daniel and now her mother’s deaths.)
Regina’s current plan to destroy Snow: step back and let Snow’s guilt over killing Cora blacken her heart. We’re not used to seeing Regina with such passive plans, so we’re guessing this could change before too long. Will Regina lose patience and take a more proactive approach to destroying Snow’s heart? That would definitely necessitate more scenes between stepmother and daughter.
Another (very likely) possibility is that these two will come together to save Henry, who may be kidnapped by Greg and Tamara in the two-part season finale. Their love for Henry is one of the few things these two characters can agree upon. It would be interesting to see these two working together to get him back. Though we doubt it would do anything to permanently put to rest Regina’s revenge, maybe an armistice is the perfect time for an honest heart-to-heart between these two.
Do you enjoy this complex relationship as much as we do? How do you think these two characters will interact in the last stretch of episodes of Season 2? Let us know in the comments below!
