The Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis love their Easter eggs. And, as they also happen to be some of the brains behind the recent Tron: Legacy reboot, they love their Tron. Put the two together and what do you get?! That’s right...a Tron easter egg.

Horowitz tweeted yesterday “Tron easter egg coming up soon!” to an inquisitive fan. This won’t be the first Tron reference on the show. Amongst the Easter eggs already planted: Henry’s “Space Paranoids” game and his retro Tron lunchbox. We’re beginning to think Henry is a Tron fan...

As suggested by this Once Upon A Time fansite, which has a great roundup of retro Easter eggs, the Tron fixation and other dated paraphernalia seen lurking in the frame (i.e. clunky old computers, the characters’ vehicles) could be vestiges of when Storybrooke was first created. If the spell has been in place for the last 28 years, with no one coming in or out, then Henry has to eat out of a musty old lunchbox (sorry...collectible) and nobody gets an IPad.

We may not have to wait long to find out the meaning behind these Easter eggs. March 17th’s episode, “Welcome to Storybrooke,” will flashback to a time right after the curse was cast and our characters first settled in Storybrooke. The year will be 1983 and we’re hoping for some seriously amazing 80s ‘dos.
