One of the most WTF moments on Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 12: “In the Name of the Brother” was Cora (Barbara Hershey) kissing Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). What the heck was the deal with that?
Writer Jane Espenson recently sat down with Let's Talk TV LIVE to discuss all things OUAT, and she gave a few hints about what's up with that relationship.

"Certainly it seem like they have a history," she teased. "She’s called him master the way you would a teacher — like a schoolmaster — and she gave him that kiss where he just sort of … I felt he barely kept his anger in check when she kissed him and he had to stand there."
We saw that anger, too, but Jane clarified that it's not because Cora was crossing some heretofore uncrossed line. She pointed out that there's a sense that "they have kissed before."
Will we learn more about their history? Jane teased that "if you look back at what casting choices have been announced earlier this year, you might be able to figure some stuff out about some back-story reveals that might be coming up."
Since we know a young Cora has been cast, we're pretty confident at least some of this mystery will be untangled soon.
