The Once Upon a Time Powers That Be have declared that Tamara really is just a human without an alternate fairy tale identity, seriously, no really you guys, that's all she is! If that's the case, we have to wonder: How does she know about magic, why is she so obsessed with it, and how did she come to have a super special taser?

Obviously, this plot could go in any number of directions, but here are a few theories about what Tamara's story might be, if she really is just a regular person. Why? Because the show is on hiatus until late April — we have to pass the time somehow.

An organization of magic hunters. Let's not forget: This show comes from people who worked on Lost, where it turned out ten billion different groups had interest in The Island. It's possible that Tamara is just the tip of the iceberg on OUAT. Perhaps she's part of a government agency or larger, privately funded organization dedicated to hunting down magic. That would explain how she funded her trip to the Dragon, where she got the super taster, etc. It would also set up what could become a much larger conflict for Season 3.

Her own run-in. Clearly, our world has been touched by magic now and again. Perhaps, like Greg, Tamara had a run-in with magic when she was younger, and now wants to know more, perhaps for her own vengeful reasons

She needs it. Tamara isn't just curious about magic — she has a deadly determination to track it down. Why? Maybe she wants to do something that can only be achieved with magic. This could even be linked to something that happened to her when she was young. For example, if someone she knew was killed by magic, maybe she wants to try to use magic to fix that. You get the idea.

Greg's childhood friend. We know Greg and Tamara are romantically linked. While it's likely that they met at some point during their respective hunts for magic, it's also possible that they've known each other for much longer. Maybe Tamara's quest is directly linked to Greg's. If she was a childhood friend of his, it's possible she's been trying to help him find his dad for years.
