Two of the biggest mysteries on Once Upon a Time will soon be revealed, and we couldn’t be more excited.
After we find out Dr. Whale’s (David Anders) Fairytale Land identity in Season 2, Episode 5: “The Doctor” (airing October 28), we’ll learn Emma’s (Jennifer Morrison) backstory, including (we’re fairly certain) the identity of both the mystery man in the Season 2 premiere and Henry’s father in Season 2, Episode 6: “Tallahassee” (airing November 4).

According to the official episode synopsis for “Tallahassee,” part of the episode will include Emma meeting up with “a fellow thief who wants to make an honest woman out of her.” In the world of fairy tales and family shows, to “make an honest woman out of” someone suggests that an accidental pregnancy merits a wedding.
In the spoiler photos for the episode, Emma is spending time with the same mystery man from the premiere (!) Since we can see cops approaching the pair in their yellow VW bug, we think it’s a safe assumption that this guy is the “fellow thief.” If so, then that means he is the one who gets Emma pregnant. After all, we know she gave birth to Henry (Jared Gilmore) while in jail.
The question is, How does he know about Storybrooke? And who sent him that “Broken” postcard once the curse was lifted?
One theory is that he isn’t only Henry’s father, but he’s also Baelfire, Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin’s (Robert Carlyle) long-lost son who is living outside of Storybrooke. His age fits, as we’ve pointed out, and just think of the potential storylines if it turns out Rumple and Regina (Lana Parrilla) are both part of Henry, Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Emma, and Prince Charming’s (Josh Dallas)family tree! If Henry is Rumple’s grandson, think of all the ways he could use magic to protect him and the whole Charming family?
Of course, if Henry is related to Rumple, there’s always the possibility that he could one day turn to the dark powers of his ancestry. Could you imagine if Henry became the next Dark One?
But before we get carried away, let’s get your opinions. Do you think the mystery man is Henry’s father? Tell us in the comments!
