Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 17: "Welcome to Storybrooke" is an exciting episode for a number of reasons, but what we're most looking forward to is seeing Jamie Dornan (Sheriff Graham) return to the show for the flashback portion of the episode, which will focus on Storybrooke at the very beginning of the curse.
Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with Jamie before Sunday night’s episode, and the first thing we wanted to know is what we can expect from Graham's relationship with Regina (Lana Parrilla), which will be revisited this week. He dished on the disturbing dynamic between Regina and Graham in the early days of the curse, and also shared his opinion on whether or not Evil Queen Regina can be redeemed.

On Graham and Regina's relationship in "Welcome to Storybrooke":
"We see [Graham and Regina's relationship] from its fruition. We get an idea early on of how controlling it is, and how manipulative it is," Jamie explained. "I think it's even stronger at the start [of the curse]. Obviously by [Season 1, Episode 7] I really start to question everything. This is at the start when the curse has just kicked off, and it's just worked out for Regina, and she's in complete control. She knows that she has this guy's heart in a box and she knows that she can get him to do whatever she wants.
So we get a real strong sense of that, and we see her at her most controlling and we see Graham at his most vulnerable. It's kind of hard to watch, because we have already seen, in Season 1, Graham fight against Regina, and speak up for himself, and work things out for himself."
Basically, we can expect to see Regina at her darkest during the flashback, especially when it comes to Graham.
"It's ugly," Jamie warned. "She's evil, and it's ugly."
On whether or not Regina can be redeemed:
We had to ask Jamie — given how badly she has treated Graham — if he thinks Regina can really be redeemed. Because he's in the UK, he hasn't caught up with Season 2 yet, but he weighed in based on what he's seen.
"It would take a lot. It really would," he said. "I think it's interesting the way Lana [Parrilla] plays her. I think it's kind of lovely the way she does it. She'll show a little something in her eyes, a softness that makes you question is it 100% black evilness running through her. It does keep that open that maybe there could be a bit of redemption ... I think it's beautifully played by Lana. But it would take a lot. She's pretty evil, in terms of me and my character. I've definitely been on the worst end of it all."
