The Once Upon a Time Season 2 winter finale (Season 2, Episode 9: “Queen of Hearts”) left us with a lot of unanswered questions, many of which look like they’ll be addressed when OUAT returns in 2013.

Based on the preview, we have a lot to look forward to, including Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and Rumplestiltskin’s (Robert Carlyle) highly anticipated reunion in Storybrooke, and whether or not we’ll revisit the idea that Henry’s (Jared Gilmore) father, Neal Cassady, is Baelfire.

Let’s break down what we spotted in the promo.

Gold enlists Emma to find Baelfire. Either Mr. Gold already knows that Neal is Baelfire, or he’s just making a serendipitous decision in assigning Emma (Jennifer Morrison) to the task. Fans have gotten on board with the theory that Neal is really Baelfire, having been banished to a world without magic when he was a little boy (by Rumple). If Gold knows that Emma already knows Neal, he could be trying to reunite them. But why is he so pro-Emma all of a sudden?

Hook and Gold fight on a ship. We see some exciting moments taking place on Hook and Cora’s ship — the one we saw carrying them to Storybrooke at the end of “Queen of Hearts.” When Season 2 returns, Hook will finally get the fight he’s been yearning for: a face-off against Rumple. Gold seems so powerful in Storybrooke, but can his dark magic combat Hook’s swordsman skills? Or Cora’s (Barbara Hershey) own dark magic?

Regina is still evil. Though we can’t be sure to what extent. In the promo, we see her eyes flash violet, which is probably a bad sign. Plus, Regina (Lana Parrilla) is seen using magic to thrust Emma across her front yard, telling her, “You will not keep my son from me!”

Still no signs of Cora ditching her royal velvet capes for jeans and a sweater, but maybe she’ll adjust to life in Maine eventually. How excited are you?! Watch the promo again below.
