One Direction Plays Final Show Before “Hiatus,” Promises to Return
And to call their last On the Road Again Tour gig emotional would be a major understatement.
Even the band’s most “mature” member, Liam Payne, admitted to their adoring Sheffield, England crowd, “Basically, we are a mess,” E! News reports.
There was hugging, a conga line led by Liam’s dad, and tons of bromantic moments. Zayn Malik, who left the pop group back in March, even got a shout out from Harry Styles.
“Thank you for supporting me and my four bros," Taylor Swift’s ex, 21, said before promising he and his now three bros were “just taking a break.”
Despite the finality of the show, there are quite a few reasons the two-hour performance was definitely not the end for 1D.
The group’s final album before their “long holiday,” Made in the A.M., will debut November 13 and they are confirmed to perform at a few iHeartRadio Jingle Ball concerts around the country.
Adorable token blonde Niall Horan is still promising they’ll be back. “Don't let the papers or online stuff tell you we're not coming back. We are,” he tweeted hours after the show.
OK, Niall — we’re holding you to that!
