Taylor Swift, One Direction Top List of Do Something’s “Celebs Gone Good” in 2013

Every year, teen activism website Do Something ranks Hollywood’s 20 most charitable celebrities according to how much good they’ve done for their communities and the world on their “Celebs Gone Good List.” So who got the number one spot in 2013?

Taylor Swift — for the second year in a row! This year, the 24-year-old Red singer donated $100,000 to the struggling Nashville Symphony, as well as performing to benefit Centrepoint, Prince William’s charity for homeless youth. And how can we forget her seriously giant contribution that made the Taylor Swift Education Center happen at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame. Because of Taylor, music education lives on!

One Direction came in second, thanks to their music video for “One Way or Another.” Instead of spending money to produce a professional video, the guys filmed one themselves and donated the money they would have spent to Red Nose Day, which helps people who live in poverty in Africa and the UK. In addition to that $2 million, they helped raise an additional $784,345 for cancer research.

And, um, we feel like their good looks — hi, Harry! — are a charitable contribution that the whole world can enjoy together.

Other celebs who made the list? Beyonce came in third for headlining London’s “Chime for Change” concert to benefit women’s rights. Unsurprisingly, Demi Lovato, Sandra Bullock, and Jennifer Lawrence also made cut.

And, shockingly enough, Justin Bieber rounded out the list at number 20 for making more than 200 Make-A-Wish wishes come true… and raising over $1 million for Typhoon Haiyan efforts. Maybe we can forgive him for the mop bucket thing after all.
