When it comes to commercials, nobody advertises a product better than One Direction. Come on, have you seen last year’s Pepsi ad with the boys and Drew Brees? This time, it’s Docomo, a Japanese cell phone company, and the boys are sharing what life was like when it was simple.

The commercial shows off some behind-the-scenes footage set to “Story of My Life” as the guys goof off while looking absolutely gorgeous at the same time, as per usual. And yes, this does include some of their signature dance moves, don’t worry.

But the best part? When each member of our favorite boy band — sorry, 'N Sync — talked about life before fame after they thanked their Japanese fans. How sweet of them!

“A few years ago, life was pretty simple,” Harry admitted. “I actually liked school, I just didn’t like homework.”

“We’d hang out at the park like typical British teens,” Louis shared.

“I’d go to the park and play basketball,” Liam added. “To be fair, when I was a kid, I wasn’t very fashionable.” But let’s face it: who was?

“Believe in yourself, and follow your dreams, I guess,” Niall offered up. So inspirational.

But would they trade their dream come true for more time to hang out at the park? We have a feeling the answer to that one is no. And it’s okay, guys — the park will still be there when you have a day off.
