There are about 12 million reasons to love One Direction, but we’re happy to give you one more: during their recent stop by Sesame Street, the British boyband sang about a letter near and dear to their hearts: “U.”

Because without “U,” there would be no “What Makes You Beautiful” — and there’d definitely be no “What Makes U Useful,” the new twist on the boys’ most popular single to date. And how else could we learn about all the great words that start with U?

In the clip that was released on Tuesday from their upcoming episode, Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis, and Zayn give us a taste of the song that makes us super excited to see the full version. “This letter’s ‘U’ / ‘You know it’s true,’” Liam sings. “It starts some words / There are more than a few.”

“26 letters are in the alphabet,” Harry continues on the bridge. “But we’re going to sing about ‘U.’

Suddenly, we are really, really interested in learning. If only the guys had been around when we were in school — it would have been no problem getting straight As if they were our teachers. Please teach us about the rest of the alphabet, boys!

If you watch this video (meant for preschoolers) more than once, we won’t tell.
