Emmy season is nearly upon us, so any awards momentum for Orange Is the New Black is good news in our books. Fortunately, the Netflix hit cleaned up at the Critics' Choice Awards last night, Thursday June 19.

The show beat out some stiff competition to pick up the Best Comedy Series award, coming out on top of other critical faves like Broad City, Louie, and Veep. And the OITNB love didn't end there!

Kate Mulgrew (Red) tied with Mom's Allison Janney for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and Uzo Aduba (Crazy Eyes) picked up the win for Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series. Both totally deserved, if you ask us.

Hopefully this is a good sign heading into the Emmy nominations, which are announced on June 10.

Although Season 2 is fresh on everyone's mind, it's actually Season 1 that's up for the big award this year, since the 2014 Emmy awards cover shows aired from June 2013-May 2014. That means this is the first time we'll get a chance to see if the Academy is as hip to Orange Is the New Black's awesomeness as the critics are.
