The Originals’ Claire Holt Talks Rebekah’s “Inner Turmoil” and Betrayal (VIDEO)
With the premiere of The Originalsand the epic return of The Vampire Diaries right around the corner, on October 3, we’re gearing up to split our vamp love between Mystic Falls and New Orleans.
In an interview with The CW, Claire Holt, whose character Rebekah Mikaelson will be moving from Mystic Falls to the Big Easy, let everyone know that the decision to move with her family was a tough one.
“Rebekah really looks up to Elijah (Daniel Gillies),” Claire said. “So I think it’s really inner turmoil that she’s feeling. Whether to follow Elijah and be a part of her family again, or stay on her own in Mystic Falls and pursue that quarterback, Matt.”
Be still, our beating hearts! We were really rooting for a relationship between Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah, but it looks like their love won’t survive the summer.
“Rebekah’s relationship with Klaus has been very strained of late,” Claire said. “He has betrayed her and, you know, she values loyalty above all else and has been hurt by him. I think it’s going to take a lot to mend that relationship, but I’m interested to see where it will go.”
And like Elijah said in a clip during the interview, “What choice you make right now, is your own.” Rebekah is definitely going to be a conflicted soul down in New Orleans.
