Orphan Black: Who Is Jordan Gavaris?

We know Orphan Black’s Felix as Sarah Manning’s over-the-top, super gay, and hilarious foster brother, but how much do we know about the actor who portrays this beloved character, Jordan Garavis?

If you’re like us and admittedly don’t know all that much about this talented actor, then we’re here to help you out. Who is Jordan Garavis, you ask? Read on for some interesting info on this 24-year-old Canadian. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

As we mentioned above, Jordan, like many members of young Hollywood today, is Canadian, which may be a surprise to some of you given Felix’s spot-on British accent. Jordan was born on September 25, 1989, in Caledon, Ontario and is the youngest of three children. BBC America’s Orphan Black was his big break, but before he landed the coveted role of Felix he played Jasper Bartlett on the action/adventure series Unnatural History, which aired on Cartoon Network.

Though he’s relatively new to the entertainment industry, Jordan is already being noticed for his unique talent. In 2010 alone, he was honored by Playback Magazine, Panavision Canada, and The Canadian Film and Television Hall of Fame by being named one of 2010's "Top Ten to Watch." In case you need a little bit of perspective on that last accolade, previous Canucks who have received that honor include Nina Dobrev and Xavier Dolan. Certainly not bad company to keep!

Critics and fans alike have been continuously impressed with Jordan’s acting ability, especially his extraordinarily convincing British accent, which we mentioned earlier. Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross even wrote that he was “not entirely convinced that it’s not his normal accent that he’s faking.
