Oscars 2014: Best Picture Nominees Get The Walking Dead Treatment

Everything looks better when zombiefied — including the best movies of the year.

Last night, The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 12 and the Talking Dead post-show aired up against the 2014 Academy Awards. TWD regularly rules the Sunday night ratings, but Sunday, March 2 belonged to the Oscars, which reportedly had 43 million viewers.

That’s a lot, but think of how many more viewers the Oscars could've had if it joined forces with The Walking Dead. MTV's Guy Code blog shared some Best Picture nominee posters zombiefied with the TWD treatment.

The Wolf of Wall Street is instantly better when it's The Walkers of Wall Street (and the walkers probably do less coke). Her becomes Dead Phone, and Joaquin Phoenix's intense eyes are actually a good match for a walker. Dallas Buyers Club becomes Dallas Zombies Club, which actually sounds like a fun movie, and Matthew McConaughey's lanky frame and sunken cheekbones are dead-on for a zombie. And the poster for Nebraska is eerily perfect for a horror film just on its own.

The real Best Picture winner last night was 12 Years a Slave, but MTV didn't do a zombie version of that. They could've done 12 Years a Walker, but they skipped it. They should do zombie versions of Jennifer Lawrence tripping and John Travolta butchering Idina Menzel’s name, since at least as walkers they’d have an excuse for such flubs.

Check out the MTV posters here. Do you think they did a good job?

The Walking Dead Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
