Near the top of our list of things to be excited for in 2014 is Ellen DeGeneres hosting the Oscars.

The dance-crazed daytime host is leading Hollywood’s biggest night on March 2 and she’s already working on her routine for the star-studded evening. In a new promo for the event, the 55-year-old star dons a tuxedo and her best dancing shoes for a lip-synced rendition of “The Walker” by Fitz & The Tantrums.

As the song name suggests, most of the minute-long video is a spiffy looking Ellen walking through town. Making this promo Academy Award worthy is the posse of tuxedo-clad men and women that make up Ellen’s entourage. As the hostess with the mostess struts down the street, dancers spin and gyrate, wiggle and shake behind her like Ellen’s own personal wake of awesome.

Featured band Fitz & The Tantrums were thrilled their song made the cut, celebrating the December 18 debut of the video with a tweet: “She loves to dance and now she loves to Walk! @TheEllenShow and The #Oscars! Here We Go!”

Here we go indeed. Anybody else kinda hoping Ellen’s wife Portia De Rossi stops by for a real-life take on that Bound 2 spoof? No tuxedo required.
