Meryl Streep may not take home an award at the 2014 Oscars, but that doesn't mean she can’t be "Happy." In fact, when Pharrell took to the Oscars stage for a fun, enthusiastic performance of his hit tune from Despicable Me 2 — which was nominated for Best Original Song — the three-time Oscar winning actress shook and shimmed with the best of them.

While performing "Happy," Pharrell left the stage to dance in the front row with the Hollywood A-listers, and Meryl immediately started to shimmy in her chair when he came up to her. If we're not mistaken, Pharrell — who yes, was wearing a version of his now-iconic Grammy's hat — was a little surprised to find himself boogying with one of Hollywood's most respected stars. But hey, this is just another example of why Meryl Streep is the best, and Pharrell handled it with style.

This isn't the only noteworthy Pharrell moment of the night. Not only was the entire "Happy" performance worth watching, but the rule-breaking singer-producer turned heads on the red carpet in his Lanvin tuxedo shorts. Yes, shorts. Also of note: Pharrell's new album, GIRL, will be available to purchase on iTunes starting at midnight ET tonight.
