Biggest Snubs and Wins at the 2014 Oscars — From Leo to Lupita (VIDEO)

Credit: AOL

The 2014 Oscars didn't hold many surprises. In fact, the favorites in every major category were the ones who took home the wins. Yawn, much? But just because we saw these wins and losses coming doesn't mean we weren't cheering for our favorites — and groaning over some painful, if predictable, snubs.

Our favorite win of the night had to be Lupita Nyong'o, whose gracious acceptance speech moved us to tears. Her win stuck out for two reasons. Of the acting categories, Best Supporting Actress was the most contested, thanks to Jennifer Lawrence beating Lupita at the Golden Globes, so there was actually some suspense. Second, 12 Years a Slave was not only Lupita's breakout role — it was her first movie role, period. That's extraordinary.

As for snubs — well, everyone's talking about Leo, for good reason. While Matthew McConaughey was a deserving Best Actor winner, the fact that Leonardo Dicaprio doesn't have an Oscar yet is so ridiculous, it's become a running joke on the internet. One day, Leo, one day.
